EMPORIO ARMANI | SYDNEY STORE | RE-LAUNCH

On 19th April, a few weeks ago, Emporio Armani relaunched and opened their new Sydney store with a little cocktail party. Though the weather was less than glamorous, literally raining cats and dogs making most guests into sponges before entering the store, it was great to step into a luxurious new refurbished space.

One key aspect of the night, I thought, was having a live band performance by Strange Talk in addition to DJ Perfect Snatch. I think it's great to have a live band. It's something different really gets the guests feeling it. We were also complimented with a range of Ciroc vodka cocktails including the fresh Ciroc Grape Soiree, Italian Sgroppinos and the lemon and elderflower Ciroc Blossom Fizz, Peroni beer and mineral water Santa Vittoria. There were also Italian-inspired canapés included fontina and sage puff straws, vitello tonnato on crostini and mint, peach and lavender marshmallows. The marshmellows were beyond amazing!

The new Spring Summer 2012 Collection was present in store at the event and the 2 level store offers the complete current collection for men and women, the Emporio Armani Underwear line, the Armani Jeans line and also the sports EA7 collection as well as an assorted range of accessories.

"The Emporio Armani store has been carefully conceived and designed by Giorgio Armani and his team of in house architects. The store features signature glossy stone floors in neutral tones whilst walls are covered with light, shiny fabrics with black crystal"

TRADE SECRET | PROJECT

A few weeks ago, Trade Secret asked me to create 2 looks for some of the stock they had available. I was able to create some easy commercial looks that most guys can wear. There's also a happy video of us on the rainy day! (just avoid looking at me and the rain hair! haha)

The best thing about Trade Secret is that it's always up to 60% off other stores prices with current season designer and local brands. They're not samples or seconds! The buyers explore the world, dealing directly with designers and brands to find the best deals and pass it on to us! Stock is always changing and expect some amazing finds too!

You may have seen through my twitter, a few months back, that I participated in a project with Toni & Guy. More info will be released soon but here is also an article on The Vine.

COUNT DOWN TO MOTHER'S DAY!

As you know Mother’s Day is on the count down. Still haven’t found something for her? It’s not too late yet! I have mentioned this gift idea before. It’s a magazine subscription from Magshop. Simply buy mum, or perhaps yourself, one of Magshop’s Mother’s Day titles and you could win a trip for 2, including your mum, to Tahiti and Los Angeles! Popular titles include Real Living and Australian House & Garden to name a few. . It’s real simple! I couldn’t resist but must remind you of the details and the importance of this competition to the rest of your mum’s life. Well, maybe not that serious, but kind of?
Basically, the magazine subscription gives you the chance to win  Return Business Class Airfares for two people from Sydney-Tahiti-Los Angeles. Staying 6 nights in an overwater bungalow at the InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort, 1 night stay in a twin-share room at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort and 7 nights in a twin-share room at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City. What’s more is there is $5000 cash to use for spending too! Shopping, spa treatments, food, the list could go on! A chance for a trip to two cities by a simple subscription? Why wouldn’t you? It’s an easy and a thoughtful gift idea.
Make this year special for your mum by simply getting her a little trip! If she doesn’t win the trip, she will still love you for the subscription to her favourite magazines! Winning in both situations here! Just easily hop onto the Magshop website and get a subscription to the Real Living magazine or maybe two, or three, or ten! That would be more chances of winning right? Another year of Mother’s Day, but let’s make this one memorable and unforgettable! As everyone says, you have to be in it to win it!

SCOTT HICKS | INTERVIEW | THE LUCKY ONE WORLD PREMIERE | SYDNEY | DIRECTOR

I had a little chat with our very own Aussie director, Scott Hicks, who has directed Oscar winning, Emmy and Academy Awards nominated films, but this time, on his most recent film The Lucky One starring Zac Efron

We discussed what he loved most about directing it, differences between the book and the film and what he has coming up next!

GIFT YOUR MUM A TRIP TO TAHITI & LOS ANGELES

"This post is sponsored by MagShop Mother’s Day presents promotion"

Sometimes, it’s hard to think of things gift your mum on Mother’s Day. If you are agreeing with me or know what I’m saying, read on!

Often I leave it too last minute and end up getting things that aren’t worth it. I have something easy and quick to propose to you as a gift idea. Firstly, let’s take a think. Does your mum love food and traveling? If she does, it’s probably a good idea to get her a Gourmet Traveller Subscription. But here’s the catch, she might have the chance to win a trip!! I’m talking about a Return Business Class Airfares for two people from Sydney-Tahiti-Los Angeles. Staying 6 nights in an overwater bungalow at the InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort, 1 night stay in a twin-share room at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort and 7 nights in a twin-share room at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City, PLUS $5000 spending money! This could be the perfect trip! Surely all the reading of traveling and outdoor magazines would’ve had your mum already wanting a free trip right?

This would be the perfect idea for your mum. First a beautiful week with the open ocean in Tahiti, enjoying the fresh water, swimming, tanning and drinking coconut, then another week in LA, where all the shopping begins! With the $5000 spending money, there’s nothing to lose! I think it would be the perfect Mother’s Day gift if she won it! She could take your Dad or if you are lucky, she might even choose you! She’ll definitely be thanking you for it and it’s just as easy as buying her a subscription! This deal is too tempting, I think I might have to do this myself! Haha

VOGUE & BELVEDERE BRUNCH AT MANLY WINE

Last Saturday, I was invited to a brunch hosted by Vogue and Belvedere Vodka at Manly Wine opposite the beach. Belvedere's new and specially infused Bloody Mary Vodka Cocktails were served from 10:30am, it was quite possibly the earliest I've experienced. However we were also served a decent amount of canapes including banana & cream pancakes and smoked salmon on pancakes too! So that kind of balance things out right? It's been a long while either Lauren or myself have been to Manly and catching the ferry from Circular Quay overseeing the harbour with the best sunny weather, could not get any better! It was the perfect day for brunch at Manly and seeing friendly faces.

Claire Smith, master blender for Belvedere Vodka addressed the guests and she had a sense of humour too! Also, I was very honoured to be mentioned and snapped on Vogue online too! The picture at the bottom of Lauren and I were found on the site.

MIU MIU SPRING SUMMER 2012 | SYDNEY LAUNCH PARTY | AUSTRALIA

Last month, I received an invitation to the Miu Miu Launch party for the Spring/Summer 2012 collection landing on Australian shores. The invite came in thick gold-foiled edged and gold embossed writing. I might have gasped several breaths before I read the content of the invite. Was a little too exciting!

It was an honour to be invited. My friend Kristina and I had a great time! On the night, a range of guests attended, some including Josh Goot, Dion Lee, Christine Centenera and Erin McNaught. Grazia editor Kellie Hush even brought her little daughter along in a cute Miu Miu dress (picture below)! It was a nice evening filled with classy canapés, and specialized cocktails by Damien Lowe. I especially loved the Pink Velvet Martini with watermelon chunks, rose bud, and Belvedere Pure Vodka ,but the Miu Miu Cocktail was not one to miss either, with the Bombay Sapphire Gin, aperol, lemon juice, and angostura bitters. I snapped a picture of the menu too, for you to look at. Keeping the beats moving on the night was DJ Phillipa, who was flown from New Zealand especially for the night and dressed head to toe in Miu Miu. Of course I couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with her on the decks haha.

When I saw the colourful combination of Luke Sales & Anna Plunkett from Romance Was Born and Kristina in her hot pink dress, I had to take a shot. What did you think of my styling for her? I thought an a-line and bright pink Goat dress with a red Anya Hindmarch glitter clutch couldn’t be more fitting for a Miu Miu affair!

Miu Miu always encapsulates a more fun, quirky, younger version of older sister Prada and this collection was no exception. Here are some images I snapped from the night. I couldn’t stop myself taking pictures of the glitter and sequin classics in store!

Thanks for a good night Miu Miu!
