I had a little chat with our very own Aussie director, Scott Hicks, who has directed Oscar winning, Emmy and Academy Awards nominated films, but this time, on his most recent film The Lucky One starring Zac Efron

We discussed what he loved most about directing it, differences between the book and the film and what he has coming up next!

VOGUE & BELVEDERE BRUNCH AT MANLY WINE

Last Saturday, I was invited to a brunch hosted by Vogue and Belvedere Vodka at Manly Wine opposite the beach. Belvedere's new and specially infused Bloody Mary Vodka Cocktails were served from 10:30am, it was quite possibly the earliest I've experienced. However we were also served a decent amount of canapes including banana & cream pancakes and smoked salmon on pancakes too! So that kind of balance things out right? It's been a long while either Lauren or myself have been to Manly and catching the ferry from Circular Quay overseeing the harbour with the best sunny weather, could not get any better! It was the perfect day for brunch at Manly and seeing friendly faces.

Claire Smith, master blender for Belvedere Vodka addressed the guests and she had a sense of humour too! Also, I was very honoured to be mentioned and snapped on Vogue online too! The picture at the bottom of Lauren and I were found on the site.

MIU MIU SPRING SUMMER 2012 | SYDNEY LAUNCH PARTY | AUSTRALIA

Last month, I received an invitation to the Miu Miu Launch party for the Spring/Summer 2012 collection landing on Australian shores. The invite came in thick gold-foiled edged and gold embossed writing. I might have gasped several breaths before I read the content of the invite. Was a little too exciting!

It was an honour to be invited. My friend Kristina and I had a great time! On the night, a range of guests attended, some including Josh Goot, Dion Lee, Christine Centenera and Erin McNaught. Grazia editor Kellie Hush even brought her little daughter along in a cute Miu Miu dress (picture below)! It was a nice evening filled with classy canapés, and specialized cocktails by Damien Lowe. I especially loved the Pink Velvet Martini with watermelon chunks, rose bud, and Belvedere Pure Vodka ,but the Miu Miu Cocktail was not one to miss either, with the Bombay Sapphire Gin, aperol, lemon juice, and angostura bitters. I snapped a picture of the menu too, for you to look at. Keeping the beats moving on the night was DJ Phillipa, who was flown from New Zealand especially for the night and dressed head to toe in Miu Miu. Of course I couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with her on the decks haha.

When I saw the colourful combination of Luke Sales & Anna Plunkett from Romance Was Born and Kristina in her hot pink dress, I had to take a shot. What did you think of my styling for her? I thought an a-line and bright pink Goat dress with a red Anya Hindmarch glitter clutch couldn’t be more fitting for a Miu Miu affair!

Miu Miu always encapsulates a more fun, quirky, younger version of older sister Prada and this collection was no exception. Here are some images I snapped from the night. I couldn’t stop myself taking pictures of the glitter and sequin classics in store!

Thanks for a good night Miu Miu!

ELWOOD THE ANORAK CUSTOMISATION | STORE WINDOW DISPLAY

A few weeks ago, Elwood launched their men's collection into Myer this season and to celebrate this, Elwood asked myself and 3 other male bloggers to customize their winter staple- The Anorak! Plus have it displayed in the Chadstone & Melbourne Central Stores!

I'm a lover of the anorak and almost didn't want to customize the original design. But of course adding my own little touch to it was fun. I added nuts (of nuts and bolts) to the draw string, added a little tartan lining to the hood and interior, patched elbows and a bit of the back with camouflage, put potato sack type material for the pockets, buttons and certain areas sprayed with copper spray paint and also sponged the back with the same spray to create that texture. I wanted a customisation which was interesting but still commercial and not too costumey but also not too simple, and using small details to create that.

It's great that the Melbourne based youth fashion brand that associates with music and street have also involved bloggers in their brand now as well! This is definitely a start of many men's bloggers collabs to come hopefully!
